Williamsburgh Bridge

The perfect excursion after happy hour in the city, walking (or biking) the bridge is a great way to sober up and take in some fresh air or if you’re feeling devious, brown-bagging to keep the good times coming. The Williamsburg Bridge is often overshadowed by neighboring Brooklyn Bridge which is an icon often associated with the Big Apple. What Williamsburg lacks in architectural status, it makes up for with its proximity to Manhattan’s hipster friendly Lower East Side (LES) and its Brooklyn cousin Williamsburg and the incredible views. The center of the bridge is the perfect vantage point to view the soaring skyscrapers from Midtown to the Financial District while the end of the bridge offers you a peak of the vast graffiti talent that inhabit the city. Your jaunt will put you side-by-side the ‘burg’s life-blood of residents and shouldering next to you are some of the city’s biggest cycling enthusiasts. It shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes to walk one way, more if you get sucked into the view or get camera-happy. If your final destination is Williamsburg, head left at the end of the bridge towards Roebling (which is parallel to Bedford Ave).
